Yong Tau Foo

What comes to your mind when healthy eating is mentioned? You'll probably have food like Salad, Fish Soup and Yong Tau Foo on your list of healthy eating.

Many years ago when I was working in town, my ex colleagues introduced me to this tasty Yong Tau Foo stall. The 1st thing that came to my mind was "Aren't Yong Tau Foo all the same?"

But boy! was I proven wrong. For those who do not know what Yong Tau Foo is, you can read about it here.

I would usually go for the soupy one because then you'll consume lesser gravy which is quite high in calories.

What's so tasty and unique about this stall is their specialty: the handmade fried meatballs! Don't ask me how it taste like but it is crispy on the outside, very flavourful and 1 is never enough.

Besides the meatballs that is a must try, the mushrooms and wantons are to die for! They soak their mushroom in a special sauce and when you bite on it, the sauces oozes out from the mushroom and you can really taste the mushroom. The wanton is very crispy and the meat portion is pretty generous too.

I decided to pack this back to my office for lunch because I was eating alone and the unique thing about this place is that you are not allowed to "chope" seats. You need to queue and place your orders before looking for a seat. Usually, even during lunch hours, there will be ample seats for all.

This is definitely worth a try if you're ever in town before 6pm and don't expect your meal to be cheap because 1 item costs about 60cents to a dollar and can simply set you back by $7 to $8.

They are located at:
My Favourite Cafe
304 Orchard Road
Lucky Plaza
#06-46/47

Opening Hours:
Mondays to Saturdays
8am to 6pm
